Becoming Simply Stylish

We all want to be stylish, whether with the latest trends or our own eclectic taste.  We love to shop and we all strive for a fabulous wardrobe. However,  when it comes to fashion, the assumption is, to develop an amazing style you have to spend a lot of money.  Is that true?  Let’s be honest, we only have so much disposable income to spend on clothes and accessories.

The truth is, creating a fashionable closet that is uniquely you, simply requires strategic shopping and a few styling tricks to make even the most affordable outfit look like it jumped right out of a fashion magazine.

Here are a few of our favorite styling tips:

Utilize you whole wardrobe every day.  Meeting friends for lunch on Saturday? Style your business wardrobe with more casual pieces.  Business blazer with a printed t-shirt, jeans, and sandals or black dress slacks with oversized black/gray sweater and flats for a cool minimalist casual vibes.

Love those bright seasonal statement colors bring them into balance with a neutral color palette for a style that always on the mark.  Remember a little color on neutral tones goes a long way!

Silk scarfs always make a timeless statement around your neck, head, wrist, or handbag.   They are also a great way to add a splash of those seasonal color.

When it comes to jewelry, think timeless metal pieces in gold and silver. Classic hoops, cuffs, bangles, and necklaces.  While stone or beaded styles are lovely, they go in and out of style quickly.  Of course, Diamonds never go out of style!

Keep it classic – We all know the Little Black Dress but other classics such as a camel toned trench coat, jeans, cashmere sweater or leather jacket, can add a bold statement to any wardrobe.

Basic black – Done right all black looks sleek and stylish, but maybe that’s not your thing.  Using black basics to build from make styling simple. Start with a pair of black slacks, a black skirt, or black dress.  Black pumps can be dressy or casual.

When in doubt, keep it simple. An inexpensive piece can look amazing when given an opportunity to stand out.
