5 Things that Help You Go From Dude to Diva

The number one question I get as a transformation specialist is, “What can I do to make my transformation from a dude to a DIVA?”  While there is no perfect answer for this question.  I have five things I recommend to help improve both the speed and outcome of your transformation.

  1. Your Skin!  No more bar soaps, moisturize and wear sunscreen.   Need a little more information? Read my three part series on skin care.

  1. Your Eyebrows

    Now I’m not suggesting you get some crazy arched eyebrow.   What I am suggesting is you find a salon who does eyebrow and ask if they can trim, shape and clean up your eyebrows.   Well groomed eyebrows will make you look younger and more awake.  Most men allow their eyebrows to grow below the brow bone, which makes the eyes look deeper set, tired and dark.

    The first thing this will do is make you look younger and more awake.  Most men allow their eyebrows to grow far too long and below the brow bone, which makes them look old and tired.  So getting your eyebrows shaped will have you looking better no matter what.

  2. Nail Care

    Once again, I’m not suggesting you get a set of acrylic nails or even paint your toes Hot Pink.   But if you can paint your toe nails Hot Pink is fantastic!

    Find a nail tech and have them give you no paint manicure and pedicure.  If you want a clear top coat or light buffing – go for it.

    A manicure and pedicure will help keep your nails in great shape for when you’re ready to paint them.  The polish will go on better, stay longer and come off easier.  So go pamper yourself and relax.

  3. Rest

    We all know we should get eight hours of sleep.  I understand with work, family, and friends that can be easier said than done.  Sleep is an opportunity for the body to recover for the day past and prepare for the day ahead.  It’s also the foundation to the first three things on this list.    Without good rest and too much stress our skin, hair, and nails will show the effects quicker than you might think.

  4. Water

    The human body is 60% water.   The heart and brain are 73% water.   So you can understand why water is important to the human body. So it’s important to drink enough water to keep yourself hydrated.  When the body becomes dehydrated it can cause all sorts of issues.

A well-hydrated body makes your skin looking fresh and more radiant. Promote nail growth and prevent dry, flaky cuticles.   Staying hydrated can maintain your skin’s natural elasticity and suppleness. Drinking more water washing away toxins that can prevent acne flare ups and other common skin issues.

Drinking water can help prevent additional hair loss.  Your hair is one-quarter water, so when you do not drink adequate fluids your body conserves water for other vital organs which can lead to hair loss, thinning and breakage.  So drink up.
